This Guatemala coffee is graded SHB (for “strictly hard bean”) and grown in the highlands of the Huehuetenango and Nuevo Oriente regions.
A 24 hour ferment washed process and a blend of Bourbon and Catura varieties, farmed a at 1500-1800 MASL, Alma scores highly on the specialty scale at above 84pts consistently.

For three generations, Onyx Coffee Importers has grown coffee in the highlands of Huehuetenango, and over the past twenty years, they have expanded to partner with producing families, cooperatives, and associations across Guatemala. Onyx’s mission is connecting these families and their beautiful coffees with roasters around the world.
The intention with ALMA is to source bright, fruited coffees of 84.5+ quality, coffees with soul, working with vendor partners from Huehuetenango to Nuevo Oriente. The QC team based in Guatemala meticulously selects for a consistent, clean, and lightly
fruity blend.
For every raw pound of ALMA sold, $0.05 goes directly to partners at Habitat for Humanity Guatemala to support their Smokeless Stove Program. (Wrecking Ball has purchased 1085 lbs this season). These clean stoves impact families for decades by increasing indoor air quality, improving wood-fuel efficiency and decreasing cooking time.
